Short historyThis site was initially developed as part of a project for the course Post Graduate Certificate in Online Education at the University of Southern Queensland. It was then developed further using my own experience on the course and from feedback from my own students using the New_IB_Web at UWCSEA. The Java teaching material and examples have evolved over a period of about 10 years; firstly through my Pascal teaching notes which I developed at St Julian's School and now from my experience teaching the program with Java. The third incarnation followed a spell acquiring skills with Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash and becoming more adept at design (hopefully). The aim was to make the site organisation more logical, the contents more complete and the style more interactive. The fourth one attempts to bring the design up-to-date, fix all the broken links, simplify the design and implement some web 2.0 features. |
AcknowledgementsEveryone owes a debt of gratitude to mentors, teachers, students and others who help their ideas to gain strength and grow. Many of the early examples are based on work I did with Glen Martin at St Julian's and many of the later Java pages have benefited from ideas and criticisms of colleagues at UWCSEA, notably Mikk Towers. Past students have also made many contributions to the programming "ideas bank". However, the work presented here is my own and I must bear the responsibility for any errors of fact or omission (without admitting any liability for consequences, of course, like any good software company - see the mumbo jumbo notice below). I hope that you find these pages useful and, if you do, drop me a line with any suggestions for improvement, via the feedback page or otherwise. Richard Jones Additional terms of use
If I, in turn, have (unintentionally) used material from other sources which is unacknowledged or which is felt to be in breach of copyright please accept my humble apologies and advise me as soon as possible and I will: a) remove the material and supply a link to the original instead as appropriate. |
DonationsUse of this site and all of its resources is free to everyone. However, considerable time and energy is devoted to its construction and maintenance. If you would like to donate to its upkeep who am I to stop you clicking the button and doing just that? |
